RON JUDE COLLABORATION LAUNCH: WRESTLERS

WRESTLERS #5 T-SHIRT by Ron Jude

NEW YORK, NY — Daisy Chain Biannual announces the release of WRESTLERS, a limited-edition capsule collection developed in collaboration with photographer Ron Jude and produced in dialogue with his exhibition Dark Matter at Gallery Luisotti, Los Angeles. Featuring a series of garments printed with selections from Jude’s wrestlers images, we approach clothing as both artifact and material extension of the exhibition itself.

Occupying a charged space of codified intimacy—men’s sports—the images revisit a subject that has recurred throughout art history across cultures and time. Jude’s wrestlers assert a seductive amalgam of power, control, and intensity while revealing the psychological undercurrents embedded within collective representations of masculinity.

Central to Dark Matter is an associative logic that juxtaposes wrestlers with fires and airplane accidents, invoking an uncanny sense of the sublime. Drawn from more than twenty-five years of imagery published in Jude’s rural Idaho hometown newspaper, the exhibition uncovers a local visual history that speaks to a broader American condition shaped by collective trauma, tragedy, and mythmaking.

The WRESTLERS capsule positions apparel as another way that images circulate, accrue meaning, and participate in cultural memory.

100% of profits from WRESTLERS will be directed toward organizations addressing addiction-related homelessness.

PHOTOGRAPHY. FASHION. EPHEMERA.

Daisy Chain Biannual is a New York–based 192-page publication co-founded by Phillip Bogart Duncan and Charles Daigrepont Desselle. Each edition invites a mix of unexpected and established contributors, juxtaposing canonical figures and contemporaries formed within different structures of recognition. Never indulgent, the selection pinpoints the current moment as well as the foundation it springs from. Elsewhere, fashion photography is promotional product; in Daisy Chain, it is the art itself.
